Surf4theSoul
Christmas Party

The 2005 Christmas Party went off with a bang at 'The Unit'
last night (3rd December 2005).
We had a mega turn out and a late decision by some of the
members to add 60's 70's fancy dress
was fantastic as you can see from the pics the costumes were
excellentand PT's was exceptionally
too REAL!!! (admit it pete... ya kept it all these years)
The presentation of the Soul Surfer of the Year award went
to a well deserving and surprised James Parry,
and this year we will be exhibiting the Soul Curl Trophy in
'The Beach' Restaurant in Sennen Cove, this will be
hopefully its permanent new home.
A second presentation was made by the members fronted by Mick
& Allie of a fantastic hand made trophy
known as the Spirit of Surf award presented apparently for
all that I'd given to the club and surfing community
in Sennen..?? Well after my recent run of bad luck and Illness,
I was overawed to be presented with this
and it makes everything worth while.
PT and Sara showed the appreciation of the members for Leanne's
behind the scenes work especially of the
way she caters for everyone in the car park by providing Tea's
and coffees for everyone after a surf from the SurfBus.
They presented her with a brand new shiny Kettle..and a Bunch
of fabulous flowers.
I'd like to add my very own special thanks to her for being
all that she is.. very special!!
John and Phil presented Rich Emerson with an Amazing hand
made Fish Coffee table based on the Wegener Fish
which was absolutely awesome.
Images of all this are in the
gallery
I would like to take this opportunity to say a very special
thanks to my lovely Wife Leanne, to Allie Scott, Sara Bevan
and Steve Lynton for putting together such a fantastic spread
of food for the party. To Allie & Mick for the Award and
to Rich Emerson for presenting us with such a fantastic venue
for the party at 'The Unit'
We had a slideshow of over 1750 images taken over the last
year of surfers and surf events in and around Sennen.
All in All it was a fantastic event and I'm sure we're all
agreed that things just go from strength to Strength with
the Club.
Thanks everyone
Mel
