As
Many will recall I was unable to make
the presentation of the Soulsurfer of
the year award last year due to illness,
and it was shelved awaiting an appropriate
moment to present it to the nominated
voted and selected winner for 2006-07..
for some reason that never came and the
plans for the contest and presentation
in the Autumn/Winter also had to be shelved
due to administration problems and again
Ill Health on my part.
Even
though the trophy was not presented we
went ahead with the nominations for 2007-2008
and the voting went on through the winter
and we have now a winner of the award
for 2007-2008.
Though I'm more than tempted to reveal
the winners of both:
the 2006-2007 award for soulsurfer of
the year and
the 2007-2008 award for Soul Surfer of
the year
I am going to wait 1 more month to see
if I can make arrangements to have both
these winners together along with a few
freinds somewhere that I can make this
presentation more official.
Of course we'll keep you posted here and
all our members and freinds will be welcome
at the presentation once we decide and
finalise a venue... Thanks for your patience
We
have Now decided on a venue and time etc
for the Soulsurfer of the Year Presentation..
we will be sponsoring and supporting the
National Trust Midsummer
Swellboard Classic at Godrevy on the 22nd
June, and will make the presentation
at the prizegiving there... we'll be posting
more details here soon and hope you'll
all be able to attend and support the
contest and surfers.

Well
here we are entering our 6th year here at
Surf4theSoul.. when we started back in 2002
we could have never envisaged how rapidly
the club and website would grow, let alone
that it would become international and to
such a large extent.
We set out to promote a Surfing community
that would encourage each other inspire each
other and help each other regardless of the
craft they surfed or any other factor, a community
that would share the fun not only with other
club members but with all we met along the
way, promoting old school surfing and sharing
waves. And in so many ways we've done just
that and also encouraged the fun back into
surfing, wherever we go, so why not make a
stand in 2008 by joining us and helping to
spread the Soul.
